Coal to Fuel

Read an article somewhere that the Air Force is setting aside land and providing a grant for a comany to start producing fuel oil from coal. Anyone else heard of this ? I think it's a good idea other than it releases CO2 in the conversion process haha.

You will hear called coal gasification most often. Like any other fossil fuel, it releases CO2 into the atmosphere that was stored in the ground for millions of years.

I've heard it called that for years and never realized what it meant.
