It's a really big question with a lot of options. I'll just spout off a few thoughts.
Depends on your Skills and your Budget - What you do / what you pay for
Depends on the level of Restoration. Frame up - or just hitting things one at a time.
Havi is right. Keeping it alive and enjoying it keeps the motivation up. Being on Jackstands for years gets depressing.
To me, "Restoration" means Ford Stock. If that is the case, there are suppliers that focus more on Original as compared to After-Market modifications. If you can further describe your plans the smarter folks on this Forum can help you out.

I picked up my F3 this week. I can tell you I don't have the money, inclination or patience for an actual restoration. I want my truck to look 1952 factory fresh from the outside, however I plan on running a 302, 4 sp auto, power disk brakes and a late model rear axle under it. I just don't want to modify anything to the point where it can't be changed back to bone stock. I plan on using it as a daily driver truck.
