Bad glow plugs

How do you "cycle" the glow plugs if you are having a hard time starting your truck. Our truck at work is giving us a hard time starting even with it pluged in over night and with not so cold weather. Getting a lot of white smoke so I would say its the glow plugs but it might be a while before we can get the mecanic to fix it.

30 at night 40 to 45 daytime temps. Not bad at all. My truck starts right up without the plug. And we started pluging in every night since October.

i don't think cycling will help that truck... i know mine will start as soon as the light goes off at those temps... and to cycle them you just turn the key on and off

To cycle the GP's just turn the key on, turn it off then back on. Cold the GP's will stay energized for 2 miutes at those temps so leave the key on until the volt gauge comes back to the middle. Also test the block heater you should be able to start without the GP's with a good block heater. Batteries may also be weak

Thanks, I just wanted to try to get it started by cycling the plugs because we cant mess with it untill the mecanics get to it.
