There are two wires going into that plug connector but do not come thru. In other words, two wires never make it back to the hitch, which is what this half of the harness attaches to. You can purchase the original harness ($$$)and run it back to the hitch, connecting various items like tranny stuff, etc. OR you can do what I did and run 2 new wires and tie them to the harness that is already in place. Read this forum link below, I followed this and did mine this way. Basically you will only need to run the one wire (reverse light circuit -tan/brown stripe if I remember correctly) back to your hitch. I needed the same thing, but opted to run the 7 pin in case I sell the truck, it will have everything the HD towing package has now. So I ran the two wires and connected the blue wire already there for the future e-brake controller if required.

I hope this helps,

Ya can't tell if an Expedition has HD tow just by looking at it unless you look closely for the round "Bargman" trailer wiring connector on the right side of the receiver. They all have the Class 3/4 (2") receiver.

I couldn't find a single HD Tow Expedition last year, nor could my dealer. I drove over to another dealer who had a dozen Expeditions on the lot and not a single one with HD Tow. The salesman looked at me funny and told me it'd tow 6000 pounds. What more did I want? Took 8 weeks for an XLT to be built to my specs. HD Tow. No air suspension!

I found the dealer stocking recommendation on one Ford website. 10% HD tow is about right. Dealers, of course, will order them based on their own experience but I see very few HD tow setups locally.

My % were stright from Ford Motor Company. Please recheck your order guide. Also, the air suspension is HUGE. I wouldn't own an expy without it. Even with weight dist bars it does a great job, it's not any harder to set up then a standard suspension and takes away a lot of what I call wallow when you get on nasty parts of highways and it take the trailer pushing down on the rear end out of play. I've also got big dogs and when another couple and ourselves go out to the beach or camping it's nice to have a nice smooth ride, fully loaded or empty.
