i've got a 96 PSD and the glow plug solenoid took a dump. i had a 89 ford mustang in my shop and the starter solenoid looked the same. i put it on and it lasted about 4 days. is the starter solenoid and glow plug solenoid the same or is it different inside? $9.28 new vs. $59 at the ford dealer. could it be the glow plug harness, as the ford dealer sells the glow plug relay with a repair harness. anybody know anything on this issue? thanks, pete

 

IDK but the stater solenoid for a old Harleys is the same and cost about 10 bucks. As soon as mine craps out I am going to try it.

 

They are different. Starter soleniods are rated for 200 amps for seconds. GP relays are rated for 200 amps for up to 2 minutes. If you want a really good relay google "stancor glow plug relay"
