For $158 incl tax I got a new set of 4 shocks + a steering stabilizer thrown in from 4Wheel Parts. My 96 has almost 80K mi and still had the original shocks. The new ride is a little firmer and it handles a lot better. Maybe when I get rich I can spring for the Bilsteins!

The old ones were actually in decent shape so I sold them to a guy who wanted them for his rock buggy. I'll use the stabilizer on my Bronco.
