i have a friend with an 08 f-450 4x4 cc psd and after a fill up his truck ran rough and had white smoke coming from tail pipe for about 20 mins. no trouble since.
any suggestions as to why psd would put out white smoke????

sounds like it went into regen, but you should post this on the 6.4 forum, theyll be able to tell you more.

i'm seeing a lot of talk about whitesmoke.
i would rather sound and look dumb and not know but what do you mean when you say the truck went into regen?? also, where is the 6.4 forum located for the 08 psd.??

regen is something the 6.4 does to clean out the dpf filter I beleive the computer adds fuel, creating higher egt`s to burn particulate from the dpf. my buddy has one & describes similar stuff when his regens.
