Arrrr

This morning it was cold out but not as cold as it has been and my truck would not start!

First some butt head I guess walked in front of my truck and unplugged it so I plugged it in and waited an hour it still wouldn't start I checked the glow plug relay and there was no power across the two big terminals I tried jumping the terminals and not even a spark

I finally got it going with a boost and some swearing lol after work being plugged in all day it started real crappy and smoked like crazy so I pulled it into the shop and checked some stuff out

Last fall I changed all the glow plugs and relay so I can,t figure out why I am having this problem well first off the terminals on the relay were all rusty I guess from washing the engine off last weekend and were not making contact and when I tested the glow plugs I found two bad ones already! and the plug on the pass side valve cover back one the female side is melted on the glow plug pin and all four plugs had water in them!

so my question is can I buy just the plugs for my harness from ford and what is the name of the relay you guys are using for an upgrade from the stock one

thanks
WALTER

I'm not sure about the harness, I think there is a kit out there somewhere to replace the connectors on the harness though. Someone else might know. The relay is a Stancor. You can find more info about it on the last post on the first page of this thread:

got this from another thread

The other GPR that has been recomended is the STANCOR #802-586-902 cost around $43.00. You might want to Google Stancor or Mouser Electronics

Tim, thats just the female part of the harness right. The one in your link.

Action, do your part numbers include everything? I was thinking that I should just replace all the wiring under the covers too.
