Tire Size

I have a 1997 F-150 4x4 Ext Cab with a 4.6. Everything I read refers to a tire size of 235 's including my owner's manual yet the door calls for 255's. I've read some stuff that made me ask if this is included in any packages... I baught this truck a couple months ago and don't know much about it except that it appears to have a towing package. Any info on offered packages would be appreciated...Thanks

I believe the 255s are the 17`` version w/upgraded aluminum wheels.

I noticed that the 17's were 255's but mine are 16's.

thats simple. go to a actual goodyear store. dont get the rts tires. get the ats.. spend the 60 bucks for life time balance and road hazarrd. ive had three flats. the rubber on the ats's are thicker than anything,,, nails,, got in the water aquatread gaps. they redesigned the newer ones for that reason. the ats's ares spendy, but tires control the truck, so dont go cheap.

good luck
