oil leak
I have a oil leak off the back of the motor dripping down by the starter and out the vent hole on the cover on the bottom of the bell housing. I don't think its the rear main there is no oil on the torque converter or flex plate. I tightend the oil pan bolts and the one closest to the leak was super loose. the leak has subsided some but there is still a drop or two coming from somewhere around there. could it just be some left over oil dripping down or do i need to look at other areas. has anyone else seen a leak from this area???

There are a lot of posts on here that say it is typical to have a leak into the engine valley from the turbo pedestal or HPOP oil lines that will look like a rear main seal leak. Mine had the problem of the fuel separator drain leakage (a couple o-rings that are easily replaced) that I thought at first was an oil leak that came out where you described at the belhousing cover. Any leak into the valley will eventually flow down to the area you described, especially when you park uphill. Even if it is diesel fuel, by the time it leaks all the way down, it picks up oil and grime and eventually looks like motor oil. One post says to run your fingers under the yellow valve handle area below the filter/sparator, and if it comes out wet you have this diesel leak. Could be one of these problems, or the oil pan gasket that you hinted on.
