2003 Ranger Spark Plugs

I would appreciate any info on spark plugs for an 03 Ranger Flex Fuel. It has two different spark plugs (3 of each) in it. AGSF22PGM on the passenger side and AGSF22PM on drivers side. These are original equipment Motorcraft Plugs. Autozone showed AutoLite APP103 replacement plugs for both banks. Dosent sound right to me. Anybody have any info on this? Thanks

The factory plugs on one side have the platinum on the electrode the other side has it on the Anode. due to the way the coil pack fires one side on the positive side and the other on the negative side. The app103 has platinum on both the electrode and the anode that is the reason for the pp in app103

Thanks for that Info. Makes sense now, just wonder if there is any downside to using the replacement plugs or if I should just spend a few extra bucks and locate the Motorcraft original plugs. I have to admit I have never heard of that one before. What ever happened to the days of just throwing a set of BF42's in and that was that?

There are no downsides to using the double platinum plugs. For used the specialty single platinum because they order them by the millions and get a slight savings versus using double platinums. Because they require that your dealer carry a more diverse inventory, this savings is not passed on to you. Just get the Autolite double platinum plugs and you will be fine.
