Yeah I definately think that it is more than that. My truck has .308 gears and a c6. I can open it up and roast the tires.

5.8 EFI was rated at 205 in the 88 to 92 trucks. I would be surprised if the 86, if EFI, was different.

yeah I know what the 5.8 rating was, but this one is the High Output v.i.n. code. I can't find any data on this particular engine.

I have a book that says the Lightning was 240hp so 210hp is probably right.

It probably is. I've done a lot work to it. I put a 750 holley, headers, 8mm plug wires and true duals all the way out and it's also .060 over bore too. So I am probably pushing 250.

Hey, that's nothing. My 4.9 is pushing, man, maybe 85hp at the flywheel. It's hard to keep it pointed in the right direction with all that motor. Like a Saturn V rocket!

thats funny. Like those little imports that sound like a friggen weed whacker. I used to have one with a 300 I6 in it. It didn't set any land speed records but it got me from point a to point b everyday. It pulled good to.
