Whats in H.O. on my 1985 5.8H.O (horsepower)
I have a 1985 351W Hight Output out of a Econoline van. I am planning on putting it in my 79' F100. I know that most plaing 351 put out around 250horsepower. SO with the High Output package what are the horsepower figures. Also what exactly comes on the High OUtput package. I know that it came stock with a Holly 4barrol carb and 4 barrol Heads. Anyone know anybody that did a swap similar to this. My 79' F100 did have a 300 straight 6 in it. I am putting in the 351 and adding Headers and take out EGR and Smog workings. I am leaving 6cyclinder rear in for a while to see how it does. Just to play with. I have original rear end from Van to go with 351 latter on. SO anyone know how the truck will run...pretty good? thank you.

Horsepower is 210 (net)
i cant remember torque off hand..
i dont know cam specs or if the compression is different off hand but i can tell you that the 4 barrel is one
the heads are the same there are no 4 barrel windsor heads to my knowledge...only in the cleveland family as far as i know
it has a double roller timing chain..not really performance adding but nice for when you want to tack it out
if you want cam specs and compression specs i could look them up or someone could post them i'll check back though.
Very stout engine. that i do know..friend of mine has one and it sees lots of high rpm and constant 3000+ rpm... and it still beat his brothers (so called 300 hp 350).
WE laughed about it....and we laughed

I've got the 351W HO in my 84 F150, it is a very strong and good running engine. The only thing i have noticed differant from a regular 351W is the holley 4brl. and mine had a double sproket timing chain on it although i dont really know if the chain was stock, I'm assuming it was because when i changed it there were only 80,000 miles on it. I just rebuilt mine last summer, kept everything stock and i'm real happy with the performance of the engine. I'ts a fuel guzzler though, and I seem to be tinkering with the holley carb a lot.
I think you would be pleased with it!
