Question about the dreaded PCV elbow

Hi all. I have a 2001 Navigator with 92k miles on it, and I need to replace the dreaded elbow that goes into the top of the intake manifold. I couldn't find one exactly like it at Advance, so I called Ford and they want to charge me $67 for the entire PCV assembly! They said I can't just buy that one elbow. I want to know, is this true and if so, is there anyplace I could get that elbow for cheaper or make something else work? I don't want to pay that much when all I need is a couple inches of rubber! Any advice on this is appreciated. Great site, BTW. Saved me tons of money by locating this problem myself and not taking it to the dealer or a shop!

Nevermind. I went to the dealership to pick up the parts, and the guy there was cool. He gave me the PCV setup off a 4.6l engine (it has that same elbow that I needed), and I got that for $28.32 + tax. The part number if anyone is interested is F75Z6C324JA.

I've never looked at mine too closely, but it seem that with a couple bucks worth of heater hose and a few nylon fittings, one could make the part for less than $10. Regardless, $28 is much better than $67.

Yeah you could probably fab something up if you knew the exact inner diameter of both sides of the hose. I was very happy that they 'hooked me up' like that with something cheaper that would work, and was kindof surprised that they did that, to be honest.
