What's the deal? It runs great on E85 but the mileage sucks and the only station that has it is kinda out of the way. CEL light will go out after about half a tank of E85 but comes back on after I put in regular gas and go about 100 miles.
Had Autozone pull the code & it said the gas cap was loose.

Get your gas cap tested. Probably isn't sealing right. The only possible reason I could see the switching of fuels causing problems would be if long term fuel trim has adapted E85 values, and cannot compensate for short term regular fuel. Get a new gas cap (or get it tested) and go from there.
