The '91 is back from the body shop, dropped her off Dec. 1 and picked her up Jan. 31.
Before:
One quick picture at the body shop, this is before they pulled the tail gate and removed the bumper and the bed.
After:
New head lights and windshield.
I don't like the XLT trim piece on the tailgate, I prefer the XL look. On the 87-91 models the big F O R D is under the trim. Had them weld up the six mounting holes and paint the letters body color (not a decal). The back window still needs work around the trim where the chrome peeled off. Next on the list. Also the seat is faded, its on the list. The bed is lined. I took a Mother's power ball and wheel polish to the tool box before putting it back on.

Nearly what I paid for the truck. Damn near!
Rear fender rot was cut out and new metal welded in
Pulled the bed and painted the frame and back of the cab
Welded up the tail gate where the XLT trim piece was
Painted the F O R D (not decals)
Removed every dent
Painted the wiper arms
Painted the inside of the vent shades
Painted the grill
New head lights
New tail lights
New windshield
Two tone (costs more than single color)
Double stripes (no lower door ding trim, old looked like crap), stripes are expensive
The list goes on...
I bet someone can guess.
My truck has 72,500 miles and before I painted it I rebuilt the front suspension.
There is an '87 F150 shortbed 4x4 with the original 351 with carb for sale on Craig's list in the Charlotte area. It has 140,000 miles but he's replaced or rebuilt everything. Carolina blue, been totally redone and he wants $9999 and been for sale for two years now. He keeps re-listing it. I can tell you that NOW I understand why its priced that way.

I know I know. LOL
It would be nice if I could pay what I paid for the truck (free) LOL.
It looks really nice and I know what you mean about people asking that much.
