Bobby, are you looking to go a forged piston? A Hyper piston or a stock replacement?

If the 390 crank/rods was used with 4.080 bore and the COAE heads. The basic 390 forged pistons Barry had would put comp up around 11.5:1 I wondered what changing to the forged 410 pistons with a comp height of 1.66 and ratio of of 8.1:1 (in their standard application) would put things at compression wise.

No I still cant use the calculator!!!!! Yes I can admit it "I know nothing", hence my presence

Thats why I tried to talk you out of using the C0AE heads.... thats a hell of alot of compression to run on Socal 91 octane gas, Unless you run a cam with alot of cylinder bleed off .. I think your trying and correct me if I'am wrong...Build a motor like Polcats?

If So..look up his build ..and check it out..I have somewhere around here his cam specs...well not here right now...at a customers house...But I think he gave it out once..And I checked into it...But It seems to work for him?

But without opening up the chamber's in the C0's I wouldnt use them on the street unless you plan on mixing 110 with 91 to make the motor happy.. Unless you find the right cam to bleed off some Compression.. 11.5 to 1 is a hell of alot to run on the street..even the motors of yesterday ran a max of about 10.5 to 1 with either shell or Arco 104 octane.... when we use to get it out of the corner gas station.... JMO..

Bobby...you can do it your way.. and also running that high of CR..your gonna want some pistons other than stock... You still have alot of unknowns in your build...

Take it one step at a time..NO 2 Motors are ever the same... You need a better plan and you seem to want to build this in your head..and it wont work that way Bud....all the parts have to work together... Or you'll end up with a High CR piece of Chit.... JMO...

Go with the C4's ..and I have some builds that I have done for a few guys...they might not Make The Biggest killer HP and Tq....But they stayed together.... you cany make 700hp on $2000 in used parts.... JMO

and dont get your block bored until you have settled on the piston's and bought them in hand with your ring set either..another bad mistake ..alot of guys make.... File to fit rings also... JMO

I didnt mean to write a book here but I just thought you should know what I think..not that I'am alway right..By no means ...just what I have come accross over the years...

Works for me Russ, that why I come here.... thanks for the heads up.. I'd stick to the truck engine for now and let this HiPo just come together over time.. Probably much cheaper that WAY!!! lol

If the other C4's from Tom are in good order maybe the best thing is to get the COAE's a better home..we'll see how it all plays out.

Well your hard head like most of us gearheads..LOL... and I , Like I suggested to you a few days back...look for a buyer for the C0's and invest that money in the C4's.... you can build as much HP with alot less CR problems with the C4's and plus Ported they flow a hell of alot better...

Write Ton an email..and tell him you would like to have the heads...That your a buddy of mine.. and hopefully you can score them..My Sons out of state and I cant get ahold of him...the Grandson is a semi Pro Bike Roadracer..at 14, so ther off doing there thing..So My A$$ is outta luck getting them....

But i would write him soon, as he wants them gone before this weekend...
