Headlight Bulb for '04

Guys have any of you changed a bulb on your 2004? I went into Napa today and I guess there is 2 different types of bulbs out there for the F-150. I didn't get a chance to take it apart yet to check which one it is. They sure don't look as easy to change as on the old trucks. Anyways one is an oval fitting with 4 prongs and the other is circular. My truck is an FX4 if that matters but, if anyone knows off the top of there head I appreciate the info. Thanks

H13 is the type you need. There is only one type bulb that fits. That type bulb is also referred to as 9008. You do have to remove the entire headlamp unit but it is easy to do.

You need type 9008 the housing comes out very easy. Just don't start unscrewing the wrong bolts or you will make the headlight out of adjustment.Head light bulbs should always be replaced in pairs due to different light intensity factors. Its cheaper to get two 9008 bulbs for 19.99 then paying the 12.99 for the single bulb.

Remember 2004 was the transition year. The book probably listed the h13 or the 9007 lamps. The H13 goes into the new body style 2004's and the 9007 in the Heritage.

Hope this helps
