Superlift tru-speed sensor.....anybody?

I'm getting tired of guessing how fast I"m going all the time and want to have my speedo right for a change. I'd like to know how well the true-speed sensor works.....OR.....if it's even necessary! Can the speedo be reset to the tires manually? Tires are 35's

I recommend the speed wizard by MERCURY (he is a member here) he invented it and its easier to use than tru speed. Look him up, he is always willing to help.

If you still have the 315/75R16 BFG ATs that are in your signature, you don't need a truespeed. The dealer can update your computer with the correct tire size. The dealer can change the number of revolutions per mile to any number above 600, your tires make 601 revolutions per mile, so they will work.

If you get different tires later on ou may have to look into a truespeed though.

while I do agree with this post... I for one do change my tires a few times a year, stock size, large size etc... The speed correction device, be it a Speed wizard, a tru-speed, or a jet accuspeed - there is a higher initial cost but if you have to bring it to the dealer every time, the gas money to get there, the waiting in line, then getting it flashed each time... to me it is hardly worth it

thats just my 2 cents

by the way the dealer rev's per mile 601 ends up being 34.6" tires.... FYI

Yep...BFGs don't measure a full 35", I think you can still get he revs per mile directly off of BFGs site...

I agree

The manuf. website is the most trustworthy for rev/mile. There are calculations that can be done, but they dont take into account tire squat (flatining with weight) and such.

Most manufacteres should be able to give rev/mile for a specific wheel diamater and width and pressure.

I guess I should have said so, but BFGs website is where I got the 601 revs/mile number.

Merc is a little overenthusiastic on this stuff at times from what I've seen...

DC has got that right... There is stuff I dealt with a lot and I really enjoy working with it. My excitement is not meant to scare anybody away- but sometimes it seems that is what happends

on your 07? You hooked it right in the engine compartment driver side upper fender correct? Thats where the ABS module is.

Once you install these things they are all basically the same some have more features and useability then others but they are all BASICALLY the same

some you have to tweak the settings while driving while others you can do while parked and see the speed on the speedometer, some you tune with a GPS but all of them get the same result, a close to perfect speedometer reading.
