Its been a long slow year

Havent been here much lately, basically because I havent had the time or much to say. I have been really struggling to get things done on the 56 this year. What with a non-existent summer over here in the UK and enthusiasm to match I just havent made much progress at all.

That was until the last couple of weeks!

I finally got around to taking a few days off of work and decided that I was going to finally get my chassis done and painted.

So I finished all of the prep work, which included smoothing off all of the welded joints. Then it was a couple of coats or Rust Bullet.

Then 3 coats of high build primer, 2 base coat and then 2 clear laquer. The end result is a chassis that is now a gun metal grey metalic that is ready to start assembly on.

Sorry for the large pics. The first one shows the front end after the Rust Bullet coats. The last one shows the rear end (all that extra metal work accepts a Jag IRS) in the final base coat and laquer.

Now looking forward to some nicer warmer weather so I can crack o with the assembly...

Cheers
Lee

wow, that looks great, it's better to do the work when you want to instead of rushing through it. if i rush i tend to get sloppy. looks great, can't wait to see the rest of the project. good luck with it and have a merry christmas

That looks great. I like the way you did no roll bar for the front of the jag it looks a lot cleaner than the two angle rods that come from the frame on some I've seen. can't wait to see the finished IRS.

Lee,

your frame looks fantastic. That is exactly the same color I'm using and I'm even more please after seeing yours. Your attention to the detail made all the difference. It ain't just an old truck frame now.. it's a custom truck frame... good work and this should be your motivation to move on.. I need some of that.

Merry Christmas... Be safe and enjoy your holidays

Thanks to all of you for the positive comments. When I started the Truck I told all that I would have it all done in 18 months.....Here I am over two and a half years later and I havent started to put it back togeter yet.
Bobby and the like did tell me though before I ever got into this that what ever you think should be doubled at a least. Those wise words have been shown to be very true..

Lucas system? Not totally sure what you mean there 4tl8ford, I am hoping to replace the standard suspension arms with some stainless steel tubular replacements, but the company that makes them wants silly money. I am now researching alternatives.

Happy holidays/Merry Christmas to all of you over there.

Cheers

Lucas ignition/electrical systems. They have the reputation here of being made from compressed smoke.

Ax, they're all made of that, just some leak a lot easier than others
Looking good Lee. If anyone finds some of that motivation, please pass it around, I need a little down here.
