Oil cooler repair ?

TnDiesel if you use the petcock on the rad you will be able to save more coolant. The rad hose will just explode that new coolant all over but the petcock will allow you catch it in a bucket.
Rick I think I could see the plug on your block but I think half of it was missing!!! I hate salted roads!!

As for the oil, I bought a new 5 gal. gas container from Wally World and will put a funnel in that to catch my oil. That should be o.k. seeing that it's brand new and never had anything in it.

I drained the oil and was looking at the rear and front of the oil cooler. The rear looks like two bolts are holding it and thats it and the front is much harder to see. When I drain the coolant I think I will take off the radiator hose that is there to give a little more room. How many bolts hold the rear and fron t of the cooler? When I take it out do I slide it out in the direction of where the rear end of cooler is located? Off to get the Thermostat neck housing.

three bolts in the rear and two in front. once its unbolted it will come out of the truck toward the rear. but you will have to thread it out to get past the motor mount.
