Starting Issue on 06

I tried to search for this with no luck. I have 06, XLT Scab with 10,000 miles. Lately if I drive the truck for 10 minutes, turn it off to go into store or get gas, and go to start it again, it sounds like when it starts it "rattles" or sounds like a "diesel". Anyone have this happen, or know what is going on? Has happened within the last week. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!

Did you change the oil recently? What brand of oil filter do you run?

My 06 makes that noise sometimes. was told it was something to do with the 3 valve heads. There is a name for it but can recall what it was called. I read about here try doing a search.

Give us a little more detail. Is it a 5.4 or 4.6 engine? If it's the 5.4 3v, you will need to be very specific ie. how long it lasts, where in the engine compartment, etc. b/c this motor makes all kinds of sounds, many of which are normal for it...

As you see it is a 5.4 by the signature.... But yes it is a 5.4. The sound is hard to say where it is coming from. Only lasts a few seconds as it starts. If I had to pin point it, it is lower sounding.. I am not so sure this is normal, as I do not hear it at "cold" start-up.... Just after the engine is warm.....
