351M Oiling MOD

Hey does anyone know how to do the oiling mod for the 351M/C? ive seen the kit on ebay the guy sells but it just looks like a splitter brass manifold that you plumb your oil pressure sending unit into and plumb a hose going from the manifold to the access oil plug by the fuel pump pictures would be awesome thanks

You can buy everything you need to do this at your local hardware store plumbing section. If it was me, i'd just use a threeway tee, instead of that 4-way with a plug in one side. I'd just use some copper line with compression fittings rather than screw around with adapating those barb fittings in and using rubber hose. Seems safer, less work, and takes up less space.

As for how it works in theory...i dunno, i'd like to know as well.

TIM's opinion

It would be nice to hear Tim's (TMI) opinion. He has been doing some mods to the front cam bearing.

tim and others historically have opted to restrict internally galleys/bearings than add an outside line. Most have reported that the outside line is only needed with high rpm as well. I am cautious about putting a external oil gadget that could cause catastrophic failure near instantly unless the need is there and not an everyday ride etc.

I didn't do any of it since mine is a low rpm motor.

for what it is worth, if it might help, nick and i started out thinking hard about the external oil line. we even bought the lines and hardware. but after much more thought, we went with tims mod. in our OP. it is better for the block and we feel very STRONGLY about rogers point big time bad failure, vibration cracked fittings and on and on. always fun later us.
