Disable the dome light delay?

Is it possible to kill the dome light delay once the door has been opened and shut? I have run into a problem with my Viper alarm where the door trigger input to the alarm is using the dome light. (Don't ask me why this is what DEI suggests using.) Anyway, I can't arm the Viper until the dome light is out as it sees it as a door being open. Any ideas?

Hmm well it seems there is an option to bypass the door sensor chirp. This seems to work for now.

Yeah, I have the same problem on my remote starter. I bypassed it but would prefer not to. I'm going to do two things because I am ****. Install a diode so that when the parking lights flash, the warning dinger doesn't ding b/c it thinks I left the lights on.

I believe there are two door ajar switches in the driver door. One for the light and the other for the door ajar stuff like warning chime, light in the cluster etc. I am going to look into tapping that for the door ajar instead of the lighting one.

While it is annoying i have the same issue. I could hsve spent the time wiring so i didnt have the issue but i just get used it. Since you found that you can bypass the chirp then you should be fine. As soon as the dome light turns off the alarm will arm the door triggers (Domelight). So your alarm isnt being compromised.

Not to sure about this but, check the owners manual. I believe there is a way to set up the lights to go off at certain times. I believe it is set up with the dash display and the set up button. Something that involves the preferred security group on the lariats.

I think that may be an 05 up option.
