After market alarms/whats the best

Ok I'm in the market for truck alarms..Mostley for my F550 work truck which has nothing its standard roll up windows, I just had the lock punched on the passengers side and they got in and stole my laptop and my 2 cell phones, all which was hidden good..I am also thinking of adding to the stock 01 F150 factory alarm, maybe a few sensors or a whole complete system..The crooks took my stuff in broad daylight with people everywhere punched lock with center punch stuck a screw driver jacked the lock and the door on the 06 F550 superduty opened up..I was at a prominent docters office in Charlotte nc..I was away from the truck for 45 minutes at most..It just ****'s me off..Is anyone got a alarm they trust to keep crooks out thats affordable..thanks in advance..The law sure dont care , with fingure prints with white chlky mabe gloves everywhere and they woul'nt even come and make a report I had to do it over the phone..Heck the crooks are winning FAST!!!

Definatley want to find something with a 2 way alarm, I learned that the hard way. My alarm was going off and i had no idea, sitting there with a beer in my hand when I could have been beating someone over the head with a baseball bat.

I've been searching ebay alot, i think something like this would work good, maybe someone else has some input in these.

never get a no name brand alarm, stick to the majors, DEI, Omega makes several brands. Do an internet search for either one. I know DEI makes several OEM alarms

Yes I would say its a real good choice and price thanks for finding it, I'm thinking about one of these for the 01 F150 with the 2 way and being DEi it should be good.. and a omega crime guard 650 with 2 extra impact sensors for the 06 F550 superduty..checking on the price..

i am not sure what models...but i have always heard good things from Black Widow brand...and Viper brand.

another option....you can buy those cheap Tracer LED lights that go above your rear view mirror....they make it appear that you have an alarm...when you really don't.....can scare bad guys away sometimes if you are willing to try.

I just picked up a VIPER 350HV from Freemans car stereo The best customers service and cheaper than circuit city and best buy and the internet..I got the unit and an extra shock sensor and plenty of wire, They install them in about 2 hours..I'll post up on what I think about it after I get it installed..It looked pretty simple they printed off an installition sheet per model and year..I might be getting a few more for the other fords as well.Just think if a stereo dont get stolen its paid for its self..

that should do the trick (i have a carbine 2 way multi sensor alarm), but just remember an alarm wont keep everyone away, i have a top notch 2 way alarm on my truck and my stereo STILL got stolen, they must have been in and out in 45 seconds tops, it really sucks, so just make sure you still hide your stuff and take stuff like your stereo head unit, ipods, and stuff you can with you, cuz if they want it bad enough, theyll take it anyway, but an alarm is a good deterant!

bla did it vibrate and how did they get in trough the door locks, I'm thinking of getting the 2 way viper 5002 for my wifes suv, since we drive it the most..your instant is why most folks will say an alarm is a waste of money, But Heck I got to do something to protect my life savings I have in my service truck..just in tools..And I know if I woulda had an alarm setting at the docs office they would'nt have gotten the stuff I dont believe..But your right a crackhead dont care!!!

yeah my key fob alarm was vibrating and it plays a chime when the alarm is going off, but the way they got through my door locks is by breaking the window, lol, which is why you need the break sensors. Its also good to get an alarm with an ignition cut off, my current alarm DOESNT have that, i had one on my previous truck, that just makes it so if the alarm is going off or has gone off you cant start it until you clear it with the alarm fob, but i think alarms do keep people from breaking into your truck, if people look in and see the little blinking red LED they are prolly less likely to break in, at least i know i would, but then again i wouldnt normally break into a car either...
PS
if you search my handle i posted a thread with pics of the damage and what they did to my baby!

WOW so the loud siren did'nt even slow them down that hurts I gigured the shock sensor would pick up a window break but by then its to late anyways...I wish I could legally rig some heat so when a theif even got close they would be laying there so I could stomped all over them..I work hard for my money..Its getting bad around these parts the Alarm business is up 30%!!!!errrrr..They have learned that the law cant keep up with the theft demand....
