Does anyone run a supercharger on y block truck?

I am planning on putting either an original McCulloch from the 50's, or adapting a vortech, paxton, or other to my y block in my f-100. Wondering if anyone is running one as I may have some questions.
thx

The McColloch supercharger of the 1950's is nearly identical to the Paxton supercharger of the 1960's, because Paxton bought out McColloch.

In 1957, Ford offered the "F" engine on Fords and Birds. It featured a 312 Y block engine with a McColloch supercharger. F refered to the engine code in the VIN.

Besides the 1957 Fords, McColloch's were also used on 1957/58 Studebaker Golden Hawks, and 1954 Kaiser Manhattan's. The only engine available on the Kaiser was a 226 cid 4 main bearing Continental flathead 6. Supercharging this engine didn't help much, and only caused the bottom end to go away...very quickly!

I know a fellow in Ohio that may have everything you need, including information and specs.

Don't laugh: myersstudebaker.com. Myer is a former Ford line mechanic and a supercharger guru. He has Ford setups besides the ones for Studes.

Paxtons were used on 1963/64 Studebaker Avanti's, Larks and Hawks.

The s/charger brackets, pulley's, etc. that fit a 312 will fit a 272 or 292. The s/charger will be the same for all.

It'll be tough to find brackets, pulleys and especially the air box for a Y block. An F Bird will bring double or even triple the price of a non blown Bird. What the 1957 Ford Customs and Fairlanes are worth with a blower, I have no idea. I haven't seen one since the 1970's. Many of these cars had the blowers removed later in life (before the cars were valuable), so finding bits and pieces today ain't easy.

There's also the 1957 E engine: 312 with dual quads.

There's a fellow in Orange County, CA = Jim Weatherly, who specializes in F engined 57's. Bring lots of cash, you'll need it.
