new guy getting a 65
Hello all, I am in the process of buying a 65 F100 with a 302. Its not in bad shape just needs a couple of trim pieces and new ruber everything. The plan is to fix this thing up some this winter and have a fun little truck to drive. One of the major things i'm going to be doing is putting disk brakes on the front. I've found plenty of info on that here and its high on my list of things to do.
There are a couple things I've read about on here that I hope you guys can point me in the direction of finding more about. First up headers I've seen lots of people asking about them but haven't really seen an answer for the 302. Secondly I've seen it mentioned that the later 70's model chassis is better because it has alot ot small design changes to make it better over all. I'd really like to find some more detailed information about this.

Welcome, I love my 65 and so far have only completed the disc brake swap. 351W and power steering are next on the list. The later model frames offer more options, but I like to upgrade mine in stages, and CA doesnt really like frame swaps, as it would then be registered as a 70's truck and subject to SMOG. Tons of ino on here so puruse the old posts!

Sadly the FE was removed but hey all is not lost 
If the registration isnt an issue the sheetmetal swap may be the easy ticket. Just move it all over to a chassis with the new stuff you are looking for... I want mine 66 and CA is too much BS to deal with even the dirty thought of attempting that option.. The no smog is $$$ in hand every year, as they just screw folks left and right on that!! I'll be ditching the 02 Dodge in favor of a pre smog sister for the pack mule.. One with pumps, a drinking problem and farts like she had chili/tequila till 3 am... you know one of those under 13 sec gals ....

Hi Welcome to FTE, I am new here also. But have already found this to be a great site. I have found a part I needed from another member that was a great part and a good deal. I have also found out that my engine is not painted the right color and numerous other tid bits of info. I have also had the opportunity to give input to help some other members, that is quite rewarding. I am in the middle of a four year project, I am getting to a point where it is getting very exciting because I am beginning to see the finish coming near. So don't forget to look at my gallery. Hopefully it will be helpful maybe even inspiring.

Thanks guys, did some reading yesterday as the internet was runnig pretty fast and i think i've found the suspension information i was looking for. I think i'm going to swap everything onto the '65 frame so i don't have to fool with 'fudging' the bed.
