60 gallon GAS tank

I just got back from picking up my 08 f450 from installing a new 60gallon fuel tank. Man that is a big tank. This should give me a little more range when towing my 5th wheel. The tank manufacture is Transfer Flow.

Does any one out there know if the computer can be reset so i can get an accurate range of mileage.

I'm think about the 46 gallon tank for my 250- when I asked them a month ago they could only do it for trucks up to MY 2002. They didn't know when or if they'd have a patch for the new computer unfortunately. A recent thread here by someone who put in a different brand of larger tank said the same thing.

Showtime,

skl is correct, with the new CAN bus compliant computers, that started with the 6.0 PSD the trip meter miles to empty can no longer be reset.

Wow, 4 inches below the frame rail. Probably something you don't want if you ever go off road.

There are some trade offs, but i wouldn't consider a SC or CC SD a serious off-road rock crawler anyway. And with a proper skid plate you could still go through some serious off road areas.

Transferflow is not cheap, but they build a first class product that meets all Federal & State regulations (most tank manufactures do not meet these), and they have excellent customer service and stand behind their product 100%

The tank does hang low. But the installer said it was a straight switch over.
I chose to go with the replacement tank over the in the bed tank as i need all the space i can get in the back of the bed.. But i also saw that transfer flow makes a tool box tank that holds 40 gallons that auto fills the main tank when it gets at half way.

The replacement 60 gallon tank cost me installed $1360.00. It is a little pricey but my rang just increased 36% that is a lot when you are towing a 18000lb 40ft 5th wheel and you just cant pull in to any gas station, and the truck only gets 7mpg on average towing

I also put the 47 gallon transfer low in my truck, the tank is lower but it is at the height of where the skid plate used to be. It is a great product and worth the money, they did a good job on the design, no corners were cut.
