I just installed the 51 gallon super series titan tank to my 2008 F-250 CCSB. Before i installed this I even thought about writing a letter to ford asking why the installed a 28 gallon tank on this truck that can pull 15,000 lbs.
I have pulled trailers with small 25 gallon tanks on a 1500 dodge and the mileage decreases so much that you stop every 150 miles. I traded that truck on a 2001 7.3 SCLB and it had a 38 gallon or so tank and it went the distance. When i talked to titan i wasn't looking for a 51 gallon tank, I was looking for a 40 or better gallon tank. I had to stop EVERY WEEK to fill the tank. Just like the other guy said, It seemed like i actually lived at the fuel station.
I did not get the protective shield, but tank is solid may not need it...

Should not void the warranty. If they say it does I ask where it shows that in writing.
Below is link about my experience with Titan and I'm not the only one.
"My primary gripe with titan was lack of customer support and marginal instructions."
