Wildman vs edge

today i put in my wildman it seems to respond better then the edge and smoke more but my edge seemed liek it made it shift better. i can time myself with the edge and the edge was faster. I had tony leave the line pressure on it stock cause it would void my warranty on the trans. Also isnt a built trans suppose to make your truck faster it has a twn disk convertor????

The converter won't make your truck any faster unless it has a lower stall speed. the more clutches just give it more locking power with the TC locks up but until it locks if the stall speed is the same it won't make you any faster. Also chances are good that your edge raises line pressure so you are getting slower shifts with the TW chip.

yeah you answered your own question... and if you don't raise that line pressure chances are your trans is gonna start slipping very soon

If you raise the line pressure electronically it will put more stress on the pump. Its best to raise the pressure mechanically.

To the original poster- Call Tony and talk with him, tell him what its doing and he'll work with you. Chances are that the Edge had raised line pressure, hence the better shifts. A good valve body will do a lot for the tranny shifts. FWIW my line pressures are stock.

arkredneck- A chip from tony will make it smoke a little, but nothing extreme.

Depends on how Tony sets the tunes up. I have run a TW chip and it smokes as much as my Dp did. I prefer my Dp live tuning better. Both are great chips. Edge has nothing that will compete with TW or Dp tunes IMO. Good Luck

Why is evryone want their truck to blow smoke?
Does that mean more power or just unburned fuel?

Unburned fuel. It is kinda the international call sign for big power it seems.

Black smoke could be a sign of a poorly running truck too. Either way its unburnt fuel.

a/f doesnt work for diesels. If you have no smoke your getting a good clean burn, black smoke too much fuel and not enough air.

TECHiNICALLY no smoke is not enough fuel... too much smoke is not enough air... get rid of the smoke and you need more fuel... get some smoke back and you need more air... at least that's how i see it... i went from no smoke with a stock truck to lots of smoke right now and i'm hoping to get rid of most of that (a haze is what i think is most efficient)

yup,, glass is on, freight train is lack of air but cool to use on unsuspecting motorists
no smoke at all is a lean mixture
a light to medium haze is the ideal burn for a diesel
