I've got a line on a nearly free used newly rebuilt E4OD transmission that's coming out of a 1990 F250 7.3L. Would that tranny fit into my 96 F250 7.3L? I was going to grab it as a spare possibly.

 

I am no tranny expert but I do know the guts aren't as stong. It would have to be pretty cheap then I would upgrade it from there. I think it will bolt up but there maybe some electrical differences. Maybe Coonhunterjoe will know the difference.

 

i beleive it is a driect bolt in, the idi trucks ran the pcm for e4od electronics at that point, i dont know about internals, i would imagine being a diesel they are equivalent but i'm not 100 %
