1952 or 1953 Ford F3

There is a Ford F3 pickup for sale in Alaska, the owner lists it as a 1953, the truck has an overhead valve inline 6 cyl engine. I used to have a 1952 F1, and this truck has the same cab, fenders, bumper, grill as my 1952. I know the style of the 1/2 ton pickups changed between '52 and '53, is it possible that the 1 ton versions did not change? Or that this pickup is really a '52, that it got registered as a 53 somehow ?

Any experts on the subject, your help is appreciated.

It was either a misprint or the registration is screwed up as you suggested. The F-3 is actually a heavy duty 3/4 ton not a one ton. If it has the same cab as your old 52, then it's a 51/52 truck not a 53.

Unless, of course, the 52 you think you had was actually a 53...

My 52 Panel was registered as a 53 when I bought it. It's either registered as a 53 by mistake or it could be a late 52 model year and registered as a 53.

All I had to do to correct the model year is provide documentation from several published Ford truck books to show the model year differences. I also provided a VIN decode to them.
