Barely got her home today!
All,
My 69 F250 sat for about a week without running, prior to that all was good. On the way home from a short trip today, it started to miss, Cough, sputter, backfire ,die and then be revived by the the forward motion of the truck. It seems to idle ok, but with only a little throttle things start going south.
Over the last year, I replaced all of the ignition system, MSD 6AL, Coil, Wire and a few weeks back I put in some new plugs. I don't think it's the plugs or anything in the ignition since it was running well last week.
I'm thinking maybe it's the fuel pump, but would it even idle if it was shot?
Things have also warmed up a bit here in Texas, and that may have something to do with it.
Any ideas on where to start the diagnosis?
