I have noticed a noise coming from the drivers side of the engine. I assume it has something to do with the intake. When I get on the gas and then let off, it is a real loud swooshing noise almost like it is blowing out air from somewhere. My truck is stock except for exhaust but it made the noise befour I put the exhaust on. Any ideas?
Is it normal for it to do it while just sitting in the driveway. It will do it if I just rev it hard. I did a search and in most cases it happend to people while the engine was under a load. Thanks for the replies.

If it is doing it in the driveway then more than likely the turbo vanes are sticking or the acutator solenoid is bad. Take it in and let the 6.0 tech diagnose it and repair it. Sticking turbo vanes or bad acutator solenoid can lead to over boost and lift the head gaskets.
i would go for a ypipe. get under your truck and look up at the ypipe and see if you see soot on the firewall insulation. if you do, its definitely a ypipe.
does it only do this when you let off of the throttle ??
if you are revving up then let off the throttle sharply, and hear the sound, it is probably just a turbo fart.
normally, you should not hear them that easily. you can hear a slight fart if you turn off the accessories and listen carefully, but if it is audible over everything, then it is not normal. this only applies to stock airboxes. aftermarkets are an exception
