Aye Lost left Greencastle, Pa. at 4a.m. Sat. arrived in Curwensville, Pa. at 7:30a.m.! Fog was turrible from Tyrone all the way to Curwensville! Wound up being a 2 day job. Till we got done ripping off all the bad lumber all we had left was the rafters! Installed new o.s.b. on after raising the rafters 6in.!! to get the roof/rafters level and proper fall to the rear again! WAGH! Then installed the new metal roof panels. A word to the wise here..if considering replacing any kind of roof..go with a metal roof!! The metal roof panels are cut to whatever length is needed and cover 3ft. wide. Once the rafters were prepared the installation of a 16X24ft. roof took about 1 hour...including beer breaks. Try that with shingles! And due to the lack of "fall" on this roof it was the best way to go as well. Shingles don't last long on a roof without much pitch. Metal lasts forever. Now on another subject..arrived at my folks home after driveing 125 trouble-free miles and went to back up into the driveway and as soon as I went from Drive to Reverse that ole 86 Ford F-150, 302, A.O.D. E.F.I. just croaked! (as in stalled, shut down without as much as a stumble) Hmmmm?? Go figger? It started right back up and ran fine the entire 125 miles back home. Of course that was 125 miles of spincter-clenching concern just waiting for it to stall on the Tyrone Mountain or in traffic somewhere on the way home! Nothing much puts a knot in yer shorts as having a vehicle problem 125 miles from home..eh! Stalling and croaking on the Tyrone Mt. or coming off Bailey Rd. (90deg. hill with a house at the bottom!!) sure gits ye frettin'! Any ideas would be most welcome! All in all..a safe journey and a job well done. Audie..the oldfart...
