Tell me why it won't work

Why ncan't I use factory bellhousing, redrill and retap as necessary to install T-4 transmission? Then change the throwout bearing pressure plate, etc.

you can if the input shaft lenghts are the same between the original transmission and the new transmission.Ford used different input shaft lenghts and diameters on just about all their transmissions (inluding autos) depending on the engine family and apllication.

if it is longer, you can always add a spacer plate (as long as it doesn't interfere with the throwout bearing) to make up the difference.

Unsure how the starter mounts, but if to the bellhousng, you have toake take care is spacing it back.

Have to be real good on you drilling, don't want that tranny off too much.
