Wiring Holley electric Choke, how.
Well, first, what kind of vehicle? Because, if the truck came with an electric choke option, the wire will already be in the harness and we can tell you the about color! If not,you will want to tag on to a wire that is hot only with the key on,and not involved with the ignition system like the coil ' ' wire or module ' ' wire(that way you don't rob current from these components).

The truck is a 73 F250 4x4 with a 70 F250 cab and a mid 70s 460. I thought about hooking the wire to a hot with ignition wire but thought that doing that would activate the electric chock the whole while the key was on. I figured the choke would have to be hooked up somehow so it chokes while trying to start and then shuts itself off.

the electric choke on an auto is not a momentary device, like on an outboard motor, but instead has to receive constant voltage after start up to fully open the choke from it's cold start position which is closed shut.Checking my wire diagrams, your truck will not be wired for electric choke. Starting in 1976,Ford had a wire tagged on to the "S" stator wire between the alternator and regulator. That way, when the alternator energized, after start up,would send 12V to the choke heater until the engine was stopped. This will be the correct place to tap on.The "S" wire was WHT-BLK,and the color of choice for the choke was WHT-BLU,so plain white will be good.
