speed limiter

does a 1997 psd have a factory, computer controlled, max speed limiter (MPH)? if so what is the shutoff speed? mine never seems like its gonna quit. i burried the speedo the other day (it was a good day it was working), and it was still pulling hard. im gonna say i backed out of it arround 100 somewhere, but had plenty left.

I have never run it till it stops that I can remember. I know they will run well over 100 factory.

I know on my truck stock it redlines at 3200 or 3300rpm I believe. With my chip the rev limiter is removed. Go drive your truck and try and wrap it out, you'll notice the rev limiter when you get up in the RPM's

it'll be a definet first but i might be wrong then, lol. My truck with a chip will easily hit 3700-4000rpm's. I had a custom tuner done up for that tho. But in stock form with an automatic, i didnt think i could go over 3200rpm. If you have a stick it might not have a rev limiter.

stock rev limiter is 3400, sticks have the same limiter but as said above an incorrect down gear cant be cured with the limiter
