Leveling kit and tires?

Well as of last week I sold my 2000 f350 diesel and bought a 2004 f150 flareside Fx4. So its time to trick this one out. I am trying to find out what I should buy for a leveling kit??? and What tires I can get on those 18's and what would look best? Also am considering a body lift perhaps? Dont really wana get into suspension lift due to the work involved and the cost lift kits for these trucks. Any suggestions appreciated guys, thanks!!!

Congrats on the "new" truck. The most popular leveling kit out there is the Autospring unit. If you search for that term, you will find a ton of info. Please stay as far away from a body lift as you can. Not only do you have to modify MANY things to get it to work (gas tube, radiator shroud, etc), but they will not stand the test of time, or any use/abuse on the trail.

I agree with everything WheelMA1 said.

The autospring leveling kit is the best out there (the 2" is a good one to get).

Body lifts suck!
A body lift might only cost about $350 or so for these trucks, but it will be hard to find a shop that will install it for less than $400.

You can clear 35s with a leveling kit, and if you feel you need more, then you can get a 6" suspension lift for about $1,200 and install it yourself, giving you a better look, better/smoother ride, more lift, and just better than a body lift period.

Hey.. not to hijack this guys thread but if somebody here has 35s and has the autospring leveling kit, can ya post some pictures.
And do the 35s clear without modification to the truck other than the autosprings?

It's only some 35s with stock wheels that wheel fit.

My dad has some truck 34s, not a 35 that measures to 34.5

i love having the autospring... i went with the 2.5"... and i have airbags in the rear to avoid the nose up look some are getting with the 2.5". im running nitto terra grappler at's in a 325 x 60 x 18, on 18x10 pro-comp wheels... they are equivalent to a 33x13. i rubbed a little at full lock, so i trimmed a little off the bumper, and made brackets to pull the inside of the front mudflaps back a little. you can only see the brackets and trimming when you are really looking for it. im not sure what size you could do on a stock wheel. feel free to check my gallery for my pics.
