In search of new bed bolts.
I'm getting a new bed and some body work done to the truck. The old bed and bolts were shot! Any suggestions on finding a set of new bolts or suggestions on using alternates? I called ford and they want something like $130 for 6 bolts! There has to be something more reasonable.
Thanks.
Thanks.

McMaster-Carr is great, but I am not sure they will have a true bed bolt. Might have the right shape and length in stainless. For original hardware it is hard to beat thepowerstrokeshop.com. LMC Truck would be a good aftermarket sorce.

For you guys that are not familar with McMaster-Carr, they are an excellent outfit to trade with. Have everything and usually ships the same day.

The only place that I know of that carries the OEM bolts is Ford. LMC Truck and National Parts Depot do not carry them.
But, they are only grade 5 carriage head bolts, nothing special. Any bolt supplier, like Fastenal, should have or be able to order the right size & lenght for you. Just take one of the old ones in for them to measure.

Hard to believe the price of those bed bolts. Up here the dealer wants $16 per bolt plus $6 for the nuts (with no threads). With tax that's about $25 per hole and I have eight holes for the box to be mounted. Image $200 to hold the box on. Wish I'd have never cut them off, should have just heated them up and took them out that way eh!
