x plan pricing
Just my 2 cents, but, there really doesn't seem to be that much of a discount with this plan. I would definitely rather take my chances without it, negotiating on my own. My 2001 excursion list was 49,150, got it for 37k with 3500 dealer demo miles. My wife's 2005 mercury montego (with all the bells & whistles) list was 31,305- got it for 23k. Even better, in both cases we were able to get very good trade in allowances just by shopping the internet & getting different pricing from the different service companies that will state resale value (pricing) on the internet. In addition, go to local dealers and get resale pricing on your trade in, they'll always state a price close to wholesale (depending on condition) but we all know, they're not going to sell your trade in at wholesale (auction)- no matter what they say. When we traded in our 2000 Windstar- the dealer swore on a stack of bibles that the car was going to auction the next day, but we stuck to our guns on our price and wouldn't bend- we got our fair market value price- 4k over wholesale, the car sat on his lot for 4 months. I knew it wasn't going to auction- at all.
