Need some Battery Help

Battery just died, was hoping someone could tell me what battery I need. Got an 85 Bronco, with a 302 EFI.
Thanks Dave

Go to your local sears and get the biggest Die Hard battery available. Believe me you will need it, the more cranking amps the better. If your bronco is anything like mine it takes a while for the thing to kick over.

Need some Battery Help

I have a deep cycle Marine/RV battery in mine... about 1150 cold cranking amps.... its works like a champ... especially if you have any auxillary lights or amps for your stereo. A new alternator can help with this too.

Need some Battery Help

A 650 CCA battery will be adequate (I've heard the rule of thumb used that you should multiply your engine CID by two), but I can't stand doing something to prove that I should have taken another step or spent just a little more time, effort, or $$$. I've got the same truck, and installed an 1100 CCA group size 34/78 battery with 0 gauge cables (I believe NAPA can make them up if you can't find them in the proper guages / lengths). Our winters hit -40F sometimes, and what may be overkill in July is a godsend in January.... I've had the block heater's circuit breaker to kick out in the middle of the night, and gone out in the morning to start one seriously cold 302. At -40F, my setup cranked it. The downside, if there is one, would probably be that the bigger battery won't live as long as a smaller one (I'm guessing), but as long as it's got a decent warrantee I can live with that.
