Talking Dual Function Reservoir Maintenance

Does anyone have any experience with the Dual Function Reservoir that sits between the Low Pressure intank fuel pumps and the Frame Rail mounted High Pressure Pump, looking for tips or tricks, internal filter replacment or unit replacement.

This particular unit is on an 88-250, 351 SC 4WD with Dual tanks.

Any info would be great,

Thanks

I'm having issues that it feels like it's running out gas, regardless of which tank it's on. I checked Codes and 2 came up indicating there was or had been a fuel pump problem. To be on the safe side I put a new frame rail pump on but with a rough start and poor running it felt just like it did before. Once I got it to idle everthing seemed better even when I took it out the first 3 or 4 miles it was much better but then it reverted back, it will stall if you make a turn.

Fuel pressure looks good at about 35 & 50 psi WO vac.
I still believe the problem is fuel related so I am checking all the common parts of the fuel system. About all that is left is from the HP pump to the rail

This morning I took the Selector/reservoir off and opened it up to see if there was anything obvious and there does not, O rings are good, ports are clear and the diaphragm is intact and everything shifts when you push on the actuator so it looks healthy.

Did you change yours out because of a problem with tank selection or something else? If you have had any symptoms like these and you have any ideas feel free to throw it out there, I'm all ears.

Thanks!

Mine did EXACTLY the same thing and stalled on corners. Under the reservoir lid, I had a small nick in the plastic which would spurt fuel out when under pressure. Mech. filled it with some sort of putty but he also managed to cover a tiny hole which allows internal breathing for diaphragm. End result, truck would start then run out of fuel in 10 secs or so cos it wasn't holding enough in reservoir. That in turn damaged HP fuel pump. Replaced reservoir so now truck starts and runs but will change fuel pump as it's REALLY noisy so I think it's on it's way out too.
I have a slightly erratic idle, but other than that the reservoir and pump were my only problems. In tank pumps are working, fuel lines are clear, filter is new. I reckon its the reservoir personally. If you take it out while it's full of fuel, blow into the inlet lines and fuel should pour out the outlet for the pump. Mine only did it on 1 line so thats how I knew it was stuffed. Good now.
Just my 2 cents
