I have a 95 Bronco in Forest Green...Resently I've noticed the Top has been fading and now is getting pale....I've seen many other broncos out there that have the same issue....But the Question I have is there anything I can do to Slow the fading or perhaps restore the color???
Any ideas????

Fading TOP???
LOL this sounds dumb but it works for a little bit. I have an 88 with a tan top and i used some "pledge" dusting/wax and it made the top shine pretty good i also use it on my tires gives is the "factory shine". But afterwards i bought some stuff called TR3 resign and oh man that stuff works great for fading or heavy oxidized paint. my truck has the original paint job and it still looks bran new which is pretty cool. Also there was a post where a guy used some stuff from a boat shop and he said it worked really well i cant remember the name of it though.

Many top makers recommend the 303, also Jeep recommends using 303 on their vinyl tops and windows because it does not scratch.

Fading TOP???
>i was just wondering, could this top be painted by the same
>paint used for cars , i would like to get mine all shiny
>black so if you have any advice about you painting ur tops
>let me know
Ford Racer, as far as i understand...You dont want to use an everyday car paint on the top because its fiberglass. The best thing to do would be to clean it THOUROUGHLY with laquer thinner to get all the years of dirt and grime out. Then take a medium sandpaper...Something to give it a little bit of abrasiveness. Then use a heavy duty marine type fiberglass paint. Not only will this last a long time, it will stand up real nice in the elements.
Correct me if im wrong, This is how i've always been told to do, and i use a very similar method to this on boats.
Thanks

Absolutely; had mine painted same time the metalwork was painted, 6 years ago, and it still looks great.
An autobody shop can tell you the paint to use, but it seems to me it was just plain old acrylic enamel on mine.

Fading TOP???
On the advice of others, I cleaned mine well and then put 303 Aerospace Protectant on it. It's like armor all except alot better and has a specific use for fiberglass on boats. I used it and it brought the color back and protects it from the sun really well. This is also what the soft top dealer recommends using on your soft top.
It's not easy to find, but if you look it up on the internet you'll find a dealer. Boat shops normally have it, and some auto shops(not Autozone or OReilly though)
