351C oilsump for 48 ford

New to the list..
My buddy has a 1971 351 clever. We are putting it into a 48 Ford F1(F100?) with a pinto rack. Anyhow, having problems with finding a "rear sump" oil pan. We need the pan, a Lo-profile pump, the pickup tube and dipstick. Who makes one and where, any suggestions? -Thanks

I cant give you exact info but I believe the van pan is the one you need. Alternative is to cut and modify what you have but make sure you include baffles.

Go to www.bonusbuilt.com and look there The owner of the site, Dan has a 351C in his truck a 50 F-1.I remember seeing what parts he used to put it in his truck. You can always e-mail him direct and ask.

Won't a 351m or 400 pan out of a 4x4 work? By the way, I have converted 302/351w pans like this and the oil pump was the same for both types.

the 351M or 400 pan from a 4x4 will work. So will the van pan but I have only ever seen one of these. Moroso or Milodon make an oilpan the has the rear sump for the 351C.

A 1977-82 F-150/250/350 Bronco 4WD with a 351M/400 will have the rear sump pan; be sure to get the pickup and the main cap bolt that retains it. grab the dipstick too; it will have a drivers side dipstick into the pan rather than the front engine block dipstick, which must be plugged. I have one in my 351 C F-100 with TCI Mustang II front end.

I have a 1951 Ford f1 and considering a 351C engine swap? Did you make the engine and trans mounts or find a kit?

i have a 351c and c6 combo and it is no funn so far i have a mustang II setup. i had to get a 4x4 pan, dipstick, pickup tube all on ebay for 75.00. the truck is a 55 f100. The motor mounts i was going to make home made and weld myself. The trouble is it look like i dont have enuff room from the mustang croossmember to the fire wall. thats my problem and as far as i can see you need a 4x4 pan from a 351m 0r 400m i think mine came from a 79 f150 4x4 well hope this helps

i bought a rear sump pan and i still have no room. i would have to cut part of the fire wall, and some of the crossmember as well. i just went back to another frame with a stock front end so i would have no clearance isues anymore. RT
