48-49 Ford F1 Toggle Switch

I have a 48 and a 49 F1. My question is, on both trucks there is a small metal toggle switch under the dash beneath the push button. I have no idea what this switch controls on either truck. Please help! I'm thinking maybe the radio? The switch is in the same spot on both trucks and it doesn't look like a home-made job.

The switch turns your dash lights on/off when you have your lights on
