Cool another brake problem

Hey everyone I've got another brake problem. I took the truck to the dealer to have the speed sensor recall taken care of. The dealer says that the master cylinder needed to be replaced, and that the brake fluid that leaked out shorted the abs sensor causing the abs light to come on. My question is where is the sensor located as I thought the sensor was in the rear on the differential?
thanks for the help guys.

I dont think so but there is a cruise control cut off switch that is in the master cyl. What year is your Expy? Their is a recall on the c.c. switch.I was thinking the fluid might have leaked out there.

I have a 1999 and the dealer already fixed the recall, but the leak wasn't connected to the recall, I need a new master cylinder. the dealer claims the leak from the master cylinder shorted the abs sensor and that's why the abs light is on.

ok , I was just thinking that when i took mine in for the recall the service writer looked to make sure it wasent leaking out of the c.c. sensor. I was thinking they might be trying to get out of fixing the problem.I do know the speed sensor is in the rear end.I think i would take it to another mechanic.

Unless they are talking about the ABS module.. which i believe is mounted underneath the master cylinder.

Yes the recall was for the speed control deactivation switch... (cruise control). It has nothing to do with the actual "speed sensor".

My advice to you.. .complain and complain... if the fluid leak was caused from a leaking deactivation switch... they should fix it for free. If there is another part of the master cylinder was leaking which caused this to happen... then they won't.

Good luck.
