Dewayne, I appreciate the offer of the video. I don't know if I will make enough progress on the truck before winter to use the video at this point. Can I take a rain check? If I don't get far enough along before winter, I'll have to wait until next Spring. My garage isn't heated and I live in Northern New Hampshire, so working on it during the winter isn't an option. I subscribe to a couple of trucking magazines and I was hoping to find a magazine article showing the Volare installation into a 48-52.

Hey Vern, before you commit to the Volare, keep an eye on my gallery. I'm getting my photos ready to post. I'm nearly finished with my Gibbon Fiberglass torsion Bar IFS installation in my '51 F-1. Eventually I want to write a complete tech article, but for now I'm going to at least get some pics posted. You get all the benefits of the Volare installation but with more clearance, virtually a bolt-in installation, and no massive frame notching is required. I should have them up by the end of the weekend. It's initially more expensive, but I don't regret it a bit.

Joe, thanks for the heads up. I haven't committed fully yet, but I think the Gibbon setup would be quite a bit more expensive than a salvage yard suspension even including a rebuild. I have a goal in mind of getting this truck on the road and running with an outlay of less than five grand. I know it might not be fully finished, but at least running. I look forward to seeing pictures of your Gibbon installation. How does the width of the Gibbon IFS compare with a stock Volare and the width of your truck? What diameter wheels do you plan on running on the front?
