chrome grill for a 53
Agreed. When I had my front bumper for my '59 stripped and then chromed, it was $300. But it looks fantastic; well worth getting it done right for the price. The lowest price isn't always the way to go, especially on such a significant piece. The front grill really sets off the rest of the truck, so don't be stingy with the $$$.

How much trouble is it to change a 54 grill to a 53 or 55? I've seen the fiberglass ones and may want to go that way if I can't get a 53 but the 54 has got to go! I can't afford chrome but have seen some painted silver that looked good with about any color. I also like the same color as the truck. Paul

You can interchange the grills without too much trouble. There are differences in the parking lights and the lower deflector (gravel pan). Signigficant change between 53-54 and 55-56. If your truck is all 1954 pieces, the switch to 53 is probably the easiest. I have an extremely straight 55 deluxe grill if you decide to go that way. email me if interested.
