95 F250 questions

This truck has really large door mirrors. The kind that have to 2 arms that bolt about midway down the door. I think this was an option because there are two holes in the door about 4" up from where the arms bolt. These holes have rubber plugs in them same color as the truck. Where can I find diffrent mirrors? Or, where can I look to see what was offered from factory.

I was reading through the owners manual and it said to pull in overdrive. This is my first automatic in a long time. I was always told to pull in drive. However running at approx. 65 MPH and take it out of OD, RPMS go up to about 2600. That seems like a lot if your pullin for a long distance. What does everybody else do. In my last automatic I'd leave it in drive until I got on openn flat road then I'd flip it into OD

1. Mirrors = go to National Parts Depot (site sponsor) or LMC Truck to check out what mirrors are available.

2. OD = pull in OD until your truck starts loading up (pulling a big hill) and then take it off.

I pull in OD. I have a 29 ft 5th wheel that weighs 10,000 lbs and only take it out of OD when pulling big hills.

I have the smaller sport mirrors and would like the tow mirrors. I am in Southern Ohio - are you close enough for a swap?

Hey Believer,

I'd be for it. But, I'm in Houston, TX. The sport mirrors, due these use to bolts to connect to the door at top an bottom? If so can you give me some dimensions? What is the center to center of the bolt holes?

The sport mirrors are small low mounts like a car. You are thinking of West Coast, if I am not mistaken. Big flat mirror about as tall as the window?

Too bad we are not closer.

Does anybody know what the Dimension are of the mounting brackets for the western style mirrors. The ones I have looked at National will not match any of the 4 lower holes in the door. It looks like I'm gonna have to get the doors repainted.
